Here are just a couple of studio shots I've done in the past week.

....Strobeless fashion

I believe it was the first professional photo shoot of now famous international model Arlenis Sosa, done in our native Dominican Republic. I told her: "run and jump at this spot and hurry before we loose the light". Before I had my camera in position, she had jumped twice already; didn't think, just went for it and it turned out to be one of my favorite strobeless fashion images... "Raw sessions" I call it. A willing model, the right lines and shadows, a quick decision, and all my focus on my viewfinder. Nothing else. Maybe that's why I often find myself with just my tripod and camera when I shoot. The bulky lighting equipment heating up in the car's trunk. I feel more intimate with my subjects. Less distractions. That helps me in the never ending search for my true art form.

Celular Life

I sometimes took pictures with my cel phone. The common pics: my wife, my daughter, my friends, my feet, a nice landscape (which never looked nice on the little screen), etc. One day it ocurred to me to shoot with my cel like I used to do with my very old with fixed 50 mm lens camera. You know, since it had also a fixed lens. Well, microscopic lens. Whatever seemed interesting to me for whatever reason, I shot it. I went and downladed the pics on my computer and..... I liked them! Wasn't bored by them! In fact, I felt good! Like when I first developed a black & white negative film at school. Weird, isn't it? At the moment I don't have a cel phone, but can't wait to get one to shoot a few other things.
